Korea is well-known to produce superior idol groups, beginning since the initial HOT group, there are aplenty of countless number of idol groups who step into showbiz every year, amidst which there are those who got eliminated before they could perform and those who go for auditions again, and of course there are those who go famous with a single song. Counting back the individual male and female idol groups who has the highest commercial value in these 25 years, according to DaumCafe ranking, the results as follow.

(1) Dongbangshinki - 784,147
Consists of 5 member male group, Jung Yunho, Shim ChangMin, Kim Junsu, Kim JaeJoong, Park Yoochun, under KR wellknown agency SM Entertainment. official debut on 2004, February 7.

(2) Big Bang - 366,398
In 2006, YG Entertainment's new group Big Bang debuted. Members consist of G-Dragon, Taeyang, Seungri, Daesung & TOP.

(3) SoNyeoShiDae - 297,771
Girl group who debuted in 2007 under agency SM Entertainment. Age ranging between the 20th generation, consists of 9 high school aged members - Taeyeon, Yuri, Hyoyeon, Sunny, Jessica, Sooyoung, Yoona, Tiffany, Seohyun.

(4) SS501 - 266,442
Pronounced as DoubleS 501. Korea's well-known male group. Debuted in 2005 until now, has achieved rather outstanding results in both Japan and Korea. Group name 'S' derived from Singer, Super Star etc, 5 represents 5 people, 0 is forever, 1 means as one.

(5) 2PM - 264,345
The first male group produced by famous musician Park JinYoung after GOD in 10 years. They were first revealed on 2008 August 25. Consists of Kim Junsu, Nickhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho, Chansung and Ex-leader Jaebum.

(6) Super Junior - 248, 616
Short form SJ or Suju. Run by SM Entertainment's founder Lee Soo Man. Debuted in 2005 September. Originally had 12 members, Kyuhyun joined in 2006 May and thus had 13 members.

(7) Shinhwa - 188,821
Under SM Entertainment, as dated now, they are the longest living 6-member male group. 6 of them underwent auditions by SM Entertainment.

(8) SHINee - 116,447
Contemporary group consisting of 5 youngsters Taemin, Minho, Key, Jonghyun, Onew who debuted when they were only middle and high school students aged 15 to 19. They are comtemporary group because they want to reign in music, dance and trend.

(9) 2NE1 - 96,690
Under YG Entertainment. Dubbed as female "Big Bang", a representation icon of the youngsters of Korea. Debuted in 2009 May with single "Fire". They are also the fastest growing in popularity since debut.
